With a mission to keep employees happy, informed, and productive, this group tackles Foolish culture as their top priority. From leading company-wide engagement surveys to developing new talent, People Team Fools don a variety of jester caps. Whether it’s revamping the Fool’s internal coaching program, organizing team collaboration dinners, tweeting to the masses, or booking a mariachi band to sing around the office, this team takes on anything and everything to top employee engagement.
Perks like Pizza and Cake Days, March Madness celebrations, Washington Nationals’ ballpark trips, Thirsty Thursday Happy Hours, and festive holiday parties wouldn’t be possible without this team – but we promise it’s not all fun and games! From creating central quiet spaces to personalizing Fool HQ’s entrepreneurial-themed conference rooms, this crew adds just enough Foolish order to our office. These busy Fools also keep stock of work supplies, manage catering orders, organize large team desk moves, and coordinate space for company-wide meetings.
Like the Fool’s investing philosophy, our recruiters seek candidates that will be around for the long-term. So what exactly are they looking for in the perfect applicant? It depends, but the most successful hires can impact the business and thrive in our culture.
The Fool’s recruiting process is challenging, but only because we want all new hires to thrive. Throughout the experience, this team serves as a support system for potential Fools. They create innovative strategies to locate the best talent and collaborate across the business to make powerful decisions. Our recruiters have mastered the skill of building relationships with candidates around the world, and they remain open to tackling the most difficult questions.
This team also manages our Learning and Development programs. From Fool University – an internal classroom structure that covers everything from Investing to Self Defense – to our Speaker Series, Fools are exposed to all types of educational opportunities.
From networking at large-scale conferences to planning a new Fool University course or exchanging personal email with candidates, the Recruiting Team plays a major role in the growth and success of our business.
Unlike many organizations, HR and Recruiting is a separate team at the Fool. Considering our specialized focus on culture and its role in the workplace, hiring is handled by recruiters on the People Team. Human Resources masters payroll; international and U.S. benefits; and employee-related paperwork.
Fools do their best work when they know what’s going on around the company and within our industry. Our Communications Team focuses on both internal and external communications.
The Internal Communications Team keeps Fools up-to-date by organizing our monthly all-company meetings (we call those Huddles), and sharing Fool news with our employees across a variety of platforms (email, our intranet, a person in a chicken costume running around the office). We strive to keep information relevant, frequent, and fun.
The External Communications Team connects Fools with thought leaders from a variety of industries. We bring guests in through our Speaker Series, introduce Fools to people they admire, and arrange for Foolish appearances in the media.
